Blast from the Past

My sister-in-law decided to have a themed Sunday dinner for her birthday.  "Throw Back"  haha!  It was so fun!  So, naturally she wanted a Barbie Cake.
I've always wanted to make one of these, they're so cute. I remember my mom making me one when I was little except it was covered in those tiny colored marshmallows.

Happy birthday to my gorgeous sister-in-law, Kari!

Chocolate & Turquoise

Loved this bride and her sweet Mama!  At our first consultation I was super pregnant and her mom brought me a sandwich!  It was pretty cute.

Lolly chose a 3 tier wedding cake with the middle layer being a bit taller than the rest.  This is a huge trend in the cake biz these days.  It's always fun to get creative with tier sizes.

Lolly also wanted their initials somewhere on the cake, so we used my handy dandy Circuit Cake Machine to cut out the letters.
Turned out pretty cute!

Congratulations Lolly and Sheldon!

Vendor Spotlight! The Clarion Event Center

This place is beautiful and the staff is friendly and personable!  LOVE The Clarion.
The look is modern/vintage/elegant.  Is that possible?  I guess so, cause they achieved it!

I did a cake for a bride at The Clarion last weekend and snapped a few shots of her event.

They have a wonderful onsite florist

mmmmmm.....candy bar

Ok, so this is seriously cool.  They have this elegant funky tree branch with little bird cages and crystals.....it looks WAY better in person, my camera sucks.

How fun is that?

oh.  Did I mention that I'm not a photographer?  I think I'll just stick to cakes.

So the moral of the story is, go check out The Clarion in Payson, Utah!  It's affordable, beautiful and trendy!  Do it!

Baby Shower Cake for Jessica

My friend and co-worker is expecting her first little baby girl any day now! For her shower, she wanted a cute little cake accented in the colors of her baby's nursery.

White fondant with poke-a-dot accents and cute girly ribbon.

Congrats Jessica! Can't wait to see that little girl!
