Helping Hand

A while back I was the cake decorator for a reception center near by. Their new cake decorator needed a little help with one of the cakes I made in the past, so I stopped by and helped with this cute cake! It's funky but sleek, I love this design.

mmmmmmm.....

The other day I had a hankerin for some cakepops. Kyle picked out the yellow chocolate, and I picked the toppings. I mixed chocolate and creamcheese frosting into a baked, triple chocolate cake and made these fun little fellas. I topped them off with toffee bits, mini chocolate chips and oreo crumbs. They were so good!

They worked out perfect for birthday favors and thank you treats for people who subbed for our primary class ;)

Cupcakes!

I absolutely love to make cupcakes! They can be simple and fun or gourmet and elegant. These cupcakes were made for a friends birthday party. Triple chocolate fudge cupcakes with almond buttercream frosting and cute little fondant flowers on top. Very cute!

I made these "pink-a-licious" cupcakes for my adorable niece and her 4th birthday party! She loves a book called Pink-a-licious, where a little girl eats so many pink cupcakes she turns pink! So I made some yummy pink colored cupcakes topped with raspberry glaze and buttercream, and sprinkled with sugar crystals. (please forgive my horrid photography!)

Kim and Nick

Kim and her husband Nick had a BEAUTIFUL wedding! I couldn't resist taking a few shots of their reception. Enjoy!

They chose a 4 tier, square, fondant cake with black buttercream detailing.

She had beautiful peach/pink daisies to go on her cake. Her colors were so fun!

Beautiful couple! So photogenic.

Their caterer was phenomenal! I'll have her info soon, she was fantastic and the food was so beautiful.

Look at this funky strawberry thing! Cool, huh?

Isn't she gorgeous?

Congrats Nick and Kim!

Mr. & Mrs. Peterson

This was probably the easiest cake order of all time! These two were so laid back and fun to work with. This is Kyle's (my husband's) cousin and his cute bride. They conveniently had the same last name. Lucky for her, she won't have to go through the pains of changing your name on EVERYTHING. So happy for them. Thanks Adam and Stephanie!
They chose a 2 tier fondant cake with black details and silk flowers.
She decided to have the design on the front and back of the cake because it was placed in the middle of the room. Loved her colors.
Congrats, Peterson's!

A Post from my Fabulous Friend, Laura

I have a friend who is an INCREDIBLE photographer. She takes some beautiful pictures and is very in tune with the arts. She wanted to come over and see how a cake was made, so she took pictures and blogged about the whole thing. It was a blast! Thanks Laura! (the cake being made is for the beautiful bride-to-be, Amanda)

Check out her blog to see how the cake was made (and please ignore my hair).
